2 Yard Container

We are starting to see some serious activity on the 2 yard container throughout Missouri, Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois and Indiana. The 2 yard container will be the focus of the ICMA booth at Waste Expo. There have also been a number of inquiries for the ICMA 2 yard container as a rear load container. We have spoken with Leach, who is the leader in rear load trucks. Their narrowest opening is 84". We are investigating the possibility of building our 2 yard container as a rear load. Our ads in American Waste Digest and The Hauler have generated a number of sales leads. This container combined with the leasing program provide growth opportunities for ICMA members. These programs show haulers value and profit potential.

Senkowski's Tractors

Bob Senkowski of Poynette Iron Works has a life outside of container manufacturing. Bob doubles as a tractor collector. Bob has 13 John Deere tractors. Bob's collection ranges from a 1929 model JP to a 1951 model A. All of Bob's tractors are in mint condition and they are all available for sale.

Consolidation of Haulers

There is a growing trend in the market for large haulers to swallow up small haulers. Last month it was Environmental Quality buying Franklin Environmental in New England. This month it is Waste Connection buying Green Team and Green Waste on the West Coast. As suppliers to haulers we have to be aware of what is happening in our markets. It is very important to keep our eyes open and ears tuned in to our customers' business. If someone is always short on cash they could easily be the next acquisition for a hauler that needs to expand.
ICMA moves forward - Rudco Meeting

February 26- ICMA meeting was held at Rudco Products. Following lunch and a tour of Rudco's manufacturing facilities we got down to business. Corey Bell of Independent Leasing Associates gave a live demonstration of the on-line ICMA leasing calculator, complete with a ready to print proposal letter and credit application. There was discussion about the purchasing programs as a means to support the ICMA. Weld-Direct has offered free samples of welding wire to all ICMA members. The members present decided to continue advertising over the next 6 months to create a buzz about the ICMA. The focus of the ICMA booth will be the 2 yard container. Florida Can and Rudco Products will display containers in the ICMA booth. The discussion moved to the ICMA's pursuit of National accounts as a cohesive unit. The meeting adjourned and discussions continued at Tre Figlio's.
